Wow

It's been a long time, Xanga. I was just about ready to give up on you when I reread entries and realized how good of a record this is. It's been an interesting year... and, as it's one am, I'll have to catch you all up on it later. :D

So.  I went to go see Grace Basement, a friend's cousin's band, play at Off Broadway last night.  And who should be the drummer in the first band that played, but my first boyfriend ever, from seventh grade.  It was such a strange coincidence, but it was great to talk to Jason and catch up with him (we haven't seen each other since we graduated two years ago).  And both bands were amazing as well, so it was a fantastic night.

4 and a half weeks until I go back to Truman... that's so weird to think.  I'm excited to go back and see everyone, but I'm going to miss the people of this summer, one in particular.  And I'm going to miss making money, though I suppose I'll be back at Victoria's Secret once every month or so, whenever I have a break from school.

Last note: the movies of the summer have been AWESOME.

I don't know if it's that my life is really that boring, because I only seem to update this thing once a month or so.  Well... I've been working a lot lately, the Semi-Annual Sale started on Tuesday, so I've been working a LOT this past week... at the mall until 2 am, getting there at 6 am... it's been crazy!!  But I've definitely become a lot more fond of my job and the people I work with- we have fun, most of the time.  And even when work becomes not fun, we find a way to laugh at it as we complain.  I did get a call from a guy who was most likely a rapist or at least had a fetish for hosiery, cause he asked me way too many questions about hose and what brands I liked, where I wore them, when was the last time I wore them, etc.  I was sooooo creeped out! and now my manager thinks we have perverts calling Victoria's Secret.

I did a 48 Hour Film Festival with Jeremy, Bono, and some Rockwood Summit people (two of whom I knew from MSA) a few weekends ago... it was AWESOME!  We spent all day Saturday making this movie that the boys wrote in the middle of the night, and they spent Sunday editing and doing some more filming, and we got the film in on time.  We had the premiere last Thursday, and that was pretty fun.  I knew people in a bunch of the films too, it was kind of weird.  But, I guess I have to live up to my Senior Superlative of "Most Likely to Know Someone Everywhere."  Melissa, Jeremy, Adam and I have hung out a bit the past few days, with some other people as well... I got to see my Kid on Wednesday when we went to see "Knocked Up"- I missed Jordan!

What else, what else... I've finally seen "Donnie Darko", and apparently will see Back to the Future soon as well.  Oh, and tomorrow I'm doing Bikram Yoga (yoga in over 100 degree heat) tomorrow with my dad... at 10 am... so I should probably go to bed.  Night, all!

Well, I'm 20.  No longer am I a teenager... in fact, I was called "old" by a woman shopping for her 17-year-old daughter at Victoria's Secret on Monday.  And that sums up my summer- work.

I did go to Springfield for the Beartones concert, which was phenomenal.  I had a blast stopping in Jeff City to see Mark and Christina, and eating with them was a wonderful time full of fun and laughter.  And seeing Chris was great as well~he still knows how to make me smile better than anyone.  Plus, I met some former Beartones, talked with them for a long time (EDIT: what is with my tendency to befriend guys who are 3 or 4 years older than I am?  For some reason, I must stand out as the typical "little sister" friend)... oh, and I had a few brainstorms for Sweet Nothings while watching their concert.

I went back to work last Sunday, and have worked 8 of the last 10 days... which is a LOT of Victoria's Secret.  But, it's keeping me busy, which is awesome, cause I need that.  And it tires me out, so I feel like I've been productive, and it gives me money, which is even better.

I did go see Spiderman 3 with Will, Angie, and a friend of Angie's on my birthday.  Angie had just graduated- she's growing up on me!  But it was a fun time, I've missed all my friends from home.  And my mom may have made a new friend for me, yesterday.  She's a nurse at a pediatrics office, and she was giving a girl some immunizations for college, and the girl's mother mentioned that the girl, Kerri, was going up to Truman.  So my mom couldn't resist telling her that she herself had a daughter who was a student there, and low and behold, Kerri is going to be living in my hall as well, AND she has just recently started going to E-Free.  It was pretty awesome actually, my mom talked to them for like half and hour, and hopefully I am going to meet with the girl soon.  It was a pretty amazing God-thing.

I'm home.  Finally.  I have the week off to unpack, clean, do laundry... it's wonderful.  And then I go back to Victoria's Secret next Monday, after a weekend in Springfield for the Beartones concert.

My mom is okay.  She has no immune system (CVID), so she had an infection from antibiotics for that... but she's out of the hospital, back at work (for the most part), and on a lot of medicine.  Today we watched "Because I Said So" (my Mother's Day gift to her), and she was right, we are like the mother-daughter pair in the movie.

I turn 20 in 9 days... that's so weird!!
